Go on and sew while you're crying! The Way Family Church Greeneville TN

Psalm 126 5&6 says:

“5They that sow in tears shall reap in joy. 6He that goeth forth and weepeth, bearing precious seed, shall doubtless come again with rejoicing, bringing his sheaves with him.”

All of us find ourselves in places of sorrow or trial. This scripture says in times so difficult they bring us to tears we need to be sowing. If we want our weeping to turn into a joyous harvest we must plant even when we don’t feel like it. Proverbs 18:20 talks about sowing seed with our mouths, and reaping a harvest. It says “with the increase of his lips shall he be filled”. When we speak God’s promises in the middle of sorrow, trouble and trials we sow faith filled “seed” sure to produce a joyful, filling, increase.
If we wanted to grow corn would we plant one seed? That obviously wouldn’t bring us much yield. Likewise if we want to reap a joyful harvest we can’t mutter a promise from God once and quit. We need to speak the promises of God over and over planting as much seed as we can.
If we will sow when we feel like crying this Psalm says it is “doubtless” we’ll rejoice in a harvest. Look at that promise! “Doubtless”. Don’t let sorrow, trials, or despair keep you from sowing the seed of God’s word through your lips today. Your weeping will soon turn to a joy filled harvest.

IGTLY,

Pastor Ken
